“Formation and development of experimental biology in Tajikistan”
On August 24, 2022, the International Conference “Formation and Development of Experimental Biology in Tajikistan” was held in Dushanbe, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Tajikistan, laureate of the State Prize named after Abuali ibn Sino in the field Science and Technology, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Yusuf Saidovich Nasyrov.
More than 150 scientists representing scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the National State University, Khujand State University named after A.I. Academician B.Gafurov, Bokhtar State University named after. N. Khusrava, Avicenna Tajik State Pedagogical University S. Aini, Tajik Agrarian University named after. Sh.Shotemur, Khorog State University. M. Nazarshoeva, Dangara State University, as well as scientists from Russia, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
The International Conference was opened by the First Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Corresponding Member of NAST Saidov A.S.
The President of the NAST, Academician of the NAST F. Rahimi, delivered a welcoming speech at the conference.

The conference participants cited the main dates from the life of Academician Nasyrov Yusuf Saidovich (August 24, 1932, Khujand – July 12, 2007, Dushanbe) – Soviet and Tajik scientist in the field of plant physiology, Doctor of Biological Sciences (1966), professor, director of the Institute of Physiology and Biophysics of the Tajik Academy of Sciences SSR (1964-1986), rector of the Tajik Agricultural Institute (now the Tajik Agrarian University named after Sh. Shotemur), (1986-2000), full member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Tajikistan (1990), laureate of the State Prize of Tajikistan in field of science named after Abu Ali ibn Sina (1996).
In the afternoon at the Tajik Agrarian University. Sh.Shotemur held sectional meetings of the conference. More than 250 scientific reports from various scientific organizations in different countries of Central Asia, Russia, Belarus and other countries of the world were presented at the conference.
The main scientific sections of the conference were:
- Photosynthesis and increase in plant productivity;
- Breeding and genetic methods (mutagenesis, genetic engineering, bio- and nanotechnology) to increase the productivity and resistance of plants in the face of climate change;
- Conservation and rational use of biodiversity and genetic resources, biological and food security.
Numerous problems were discussed at the international scientific conference, which were of great theoretical and practical importance, as well as those related to photosynthesis and the productivity of crops, the conservation of biodiversity, the gene pool of crops; use of biotechnology achievements; breeding, seed production in agriculture, plant protection and others.
At the end of the first day of the conference at the Tajik Agrarian University. Sh. Shotemur also held a round table dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Academician Yusuf Saidovich Nasyrov, where associates and students of the scientist spoke about their memories while working with Academician Nasyrov Yu.S.
At the end of the international scientific conference, the participants expressed their sincere gratitude to the Presidium of the National Academy of Science, the Biological Department of the National Academy of Science, the leadership of the Institute of Botany, Physiology and Plant Genetics of the National Academy of Science, Tajik Agrarian University. Sh. Shotemur for the opportunity, meeting and hospitality at a high level.
On August 25, 2022, in the building of the Institute of Botany, Plant Physiology and Genetics of the National Academy of Science, a memorial plaque was organized and fixed in honor of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences Yusuf Saidovich Nasyrov.
At the end of the conference, the participants adopted a resolution of the conference, which called for further strengthening the role of science and cooperation of scientists in various fields of experimental biology.
Thus, the past scientific conference of scientists from around the world in the city of Dushanbe contributed to the further strengthening of the scientific cooperation of scientists in the balgo to improve the food security of countries in the future.
